David Beckam

Hey, neighbors! Kayla Harrison here with your brand-new copy of the Jackson Daily.

First, today’s weather:

Intervals of clouds and sun. High: 65 Low: 48.

Here are the top 3 stories in Jackson today:

  1. A Mississippi woman is helping those with limited cash navigate the legal system. Gayle Carpenter Sanders is the executive director of The Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project. She feels her role is to be able to provide legal representation to individuals. (WLBT)
  2. Jackson police believe a recovered vehicle is connected to the September killing of Christopher Johnson. JPD is asking for the public’s help in getting information about the car or the people photographed behind it on the night of the incident. (WLBT)
  3. The Mississippi Poor People’s Campaign is giving free COVID-19 tests away. This initiative ensures those who can’t afford the tests will be able to get tested. These are mouth swabs, rather than the nasal swabs. (WAPT Jackson)
